We obtained sequences from three single cells whose 16S rRNA genes designate them as uncultivated members of the Chloroflexi phylum. These single cells were sorted at the Single Cell Genomics Center and, since they were derived from 85 meters below the seafloor, they may be the deepest single cell genomes from Chloroflexi to date. All three genomes appear free from contamination of a second genome, giving us high confidence that, although the genomes are incomplete, they each represent pieces of single genomes. Work is on-going to place them in an environmental and biogeochemical context.
